Ayesha Jones who won the U18 Javelin indoors in Vaxjo, Sweden last March, was invited to compete again using the senior 600gm javelin rather than the 500gm that she used to win the Commonwealth Youth Title in August.
Competing as an U20 against senior athletes, she broke Eva Durand’s Club Record with her 45.05m third throw and then added a further 2.50m to that record in the fifth round. She placed third in the competition behind two senior athletes, with a throw that would have placed her third in the UK U20 rankings in 2023!
