May 1: Will Beeston and Rachel Doherty win the Silverstone 10k

The Silverstone 10k was held on a warm evening around the motor racing circuit. The field included 111 motorsport athletes. Individually, Tonbridge’s Will Beeston and Higham Harriers’ Rachel Doherty took the honours as 1286 runners and 8 wheelchairs completed the course.

Fifteen MMK runners took part with Viv Parnell-Murphy first home in 28th place, while Sophia Campbell was the first MMK woman home, eighth in the women’s race, with a two-second improvement to her pb. Wendy Webber was the first F45 to finish, with Debra Brent the second F60.

In the team events, the Senior Women were fourth, Masters Women were fifth, the Senior Men were seventh and the Masters Men eleventh. In the Silverstone Team competition (4 to score male or female), MMK were seventh.
