May 27: Ayesha Jones wins International Javelin at Loughborough
Ayesha Jones, selected to represent England Athletics Senior Team at the Pickering Memorial Throws International at Loughborough, justified their faith by winning the event ahead of athletes from Portugal, Ireland and Switzerland.
Her first-round throw of 48.78m would have been sufficient to win, but in the fifth round she extended her lead with a throw of 49.54m. Her club record 51.66m throw was achieved at the same venue just eight days earlier.
