February 8: MMK finishes fourth overall after the final Chiltern League match of the season
Just 65 MMK athletes turned out for the final Chiltern League Match of the season at Horspath, Oxford. Some athletes were rather tired having run the County Schools Championships during the week.
Pictured above are the U11 Girls Team, the Under 17/20 Women’s Team, Josh Edwards, The U11 Boys Team, Noah Webster, Olive Geary, The Senior Men medallists and the Senior Men’s Team.
There were some highlights:
- In the Senior Men’s Race, Chad Lambert was fourth and Steve Tuttle seventh. Josh Edwards was the second M20 runner to finish.
- Jack Murray was eighth to finish in the M17 race.
- Jacque Smith was fourth and Morgan Bunn seventh in the M15 race.
- Arthur Small was sixth in the M13 race.
- In the M11 race, Noah Webster was third, Oliver Brown fifth and Stan Geary sixth.
- In the Senior Women’s race, Maddie Pearce slipped to thirteenth.
- In the F17/F20 race, Sophia Chapman won by almost half a minute after dropping out of the County Schools’ race three days earlier. Izzy Gregg was third (her first podium position) and Libby Freeland seventh.
- In the F15 race, Olive Geary was second, with Tabitha Bosley third.
- Pippa Blakemore led the MMK runners home in tenth place in the F13 race.
- Darcy King, ninth, and Isabella Lothian, tenth, were the fist MMK runners in the F11 race.
In the Team races:
- The F17/F20 women won on the day but were just three points shy of winning overall.
- The M11 team won on the day and overall.
- The Senior Men, M17 and F13 Teams were third on the day and third overall.
- The F11 Girls were fourth on the day and second overall.
- The F15 Girls were second on the day and third overall
