September 27: Julie Davison – Funeral arrangements on Thursday 23 October

Julie’s funeral is on Thursday 23rd October at 12.15pm in Crownhill Crematorium (Crownhill, Milton Keynes MK8 0AH).  Family flowers only, but people can make a donation to the Injured Jockey’s Fund, which Julie supported. Mourners are asked to wear bright coloured clothes, in celebrating Julie’s life.

Following the service, there will be a reception at Milton Keynes Rugby Club (Emerson Valley Sports Pavilion, Bowland Drive, Emerson Valley, Milton Keynes, MK4 2DN). For catering purposes, it would be helpful if you could let Mick Bromilow know if you are attending the funeral/reception afterwards, (but it’s not a problem if you don’t).

The club mourns the loss of Julie Davison, our Level 2 field judge, who passed away, suddenly, yesterday. She officiated regularly over the years at home meetings and at league meetings all over the country. In winter she could often be found helping at the finish of Chiltern League meetings. She had many friends in the sport and will be sorely missed.

Earlier this year, she married her long-term partner, the Club’s Director of Competition, Jackson Ryan, in Lisbon. Our thoughts, at this sad time, are with Jackson, and with Julie’s family and friends.

We will publish the funeral arrangements here when they become known.

The pictures above are of Julie, with Jackson at a recent Chiltern League meeting, and with Jackson and Rick Townsend in 2023 at the Sport MK Awards Evening, when Jackson was awarded the Rick Townsend Trophy for his services to sport. The final picture is of Jackson and Julie when they represented the Club at a Royal Garden Party in 2022.
