1. All athletes under 18 must train under the direct supervision of a fully qualified coach (Athletics Coach, Level 2, or above) or a Coaching Assistant, who is supervised by a fully qualified coach if they are covering a session.
2. The Club equally has a duty of care for Senior athletes (over 18). Whilst noting there will be exceptions specified below, the norm should be to train under the supervision of a fully qualified coach (Athletics Coach, Level 2, or above). However, allowable exceptions are:
* Where a Head Coach for the relevant Event Group deems the athlete is competent and safe to self-coach and train.
* Athletes are operating under the virtual supervision of their coach.
3. The Club website will be updated and maintained to show the days and times track facilities are allocated to training groups. Currently this is shown on the Weekly Schedule under Training. Only athletes training as part of those groups should use the facilities at those times. Any other athlete wishing to train at those times can only do so with the prior agreement of the coach in charge of the relevant group session.
4. For clarity we will specify appointed times for athletes training individually (not coinciding with busy individual group sessions). For the time being these times are:
* Friday after 5.30pm.
* Saturday and Sunday after 12.30pm (when no competition is being held).
5. Any athletes wishing to train individually at, or outside, set times:
* Must apply to David Millett who manages the onboarding process.  He maintains a register of who is training (and at what time) so safety and security issues can be assessed.
* Are responsible for locking the track after use and ensuring flood lights are turned off, plus any similar considerations that apply.
* Must be recorded on the register as having Head Coach sign off (point 2).
* Are actively encouraged to train with another responsible adult present able to respond to any medical, or other, emergency. This could also be another coach already on-site, with their verbal approval.
6. More than 3 members training together constitutes a group, which needs to be supervised by a qualified coach (as defined in 1). For avoidance of doubt there is scope for virtual supervision.
7. The gate code will be changed regularly and only released to athletes working within this framework.

Notes:
* Supervision = coach oversight.
* Direct Supervision = the coach at the track within seeing and hearing distance.
* Virtual Supervision = the athlete following a session set by a coach who is not present at the track.

Please text David Millett on 07816901431 to book an onboarding meeting or request variations to regular bookings.
